I saw this book recommended on lots of Canadian fiction lists and borrowed the eBook from the library — this is a story about grief and isolation but is also a supernatural story that incorporates elements of Native American mythology.

I found myself unable to put this book down, though some of the pacing and dialogue choices took me out of the immersion. Ultimately, this is a story about how connection to the people around us is the most important thing we can hold on to.

"That’s the best and worst thing about being connected to everything: you are a part of it all, but you can’t choose what gets sent out into the world. Or what can find you.”
