Everything is Tuberculosis
John Green
A non-fiction book about the ways tuberculosis touches all of our lives, either in the present or through echoes of the past. Following author John Green’s connection to a boy named Henry who is infected with tuberculosis and living in Sierra Leone, this book is about the history of the disease as well as the ways medical inequality mean that this cured disease is still a wide-spread problem today.
I’ll admit that I bought this book due to Youtube marketing, and I did think that the book would be a continuation of John Green’s video content where he explains various things in modern life that are echos of how tuberculosis destroyed lives and impacted society at large. The actual book is perhaps more meaningful, but not what I expected.
