Sally Rooney
I got this book as part of my entry into the Book of the Month subscription service. This was my first Sally Rooney book and I absolutely loved it. This is a story that centers around the relationship between two brothers as they navigate their changed family dynamic after their father dies. This is a very character-driven novel that revolves around relationship taboos (polyamory, age gaps) as the brothers navigate their own romantic relationships while also trying to heal their own fractured family. The way Sally Rooney uses language to blur the line between internal and external dialogue was beautifully executed, though I can see how it would be off-putting and confusing to some.
