Notes I got this book from Upstart & Crow @ Granville Island, BC. I mostly got it because it was a short read and I had read works by Roberto Bolaño previously in college. This is a bizarre story about a man who is asked to treat an incurable and fatal case of the hiccups, but finds himself being blindsided and blocked from being able to do so by a myriad of forces. The book is as disorienting and dizzying as magical realism can be, which is to say I found it very confusing.
